Steamboat Promenade
Steamboat Springs visitors will enjoy the addition of a new promenade, showcasing 2012 at the Steamboat base area. The promenade will stretch from Torian Plum to One Steamboat Place. It will feature a year-round pedestrian walkway with snow-melt pavers in the winter and the Burgess Creek in the summer months.
Summer 2012, the promenade will feature the calming waters of Burgess Creek ending in an attractive water feature next to One Steamboat Place. The added attraction of a seasonal water element, incorporating a number of different experiences ranging from shady seating areas to wide-open expanses of lawn. Winter 2012, Burgess Creek will be diverted into an underground culvert to allow ease of ski operations and a smooth transition to the promenade. The design creates a connection between North and South along the ski slope frontage, addressing many circulation challenges while enhancing both summer and winter recreational activities.
