Curnow takes the helm during resort's unveiling of $20 million renovation
Nov. 26, 2008, Steamboat Springs, Colo., ... The Sheraton Steamboat Resort is proud to welcome John Curnow to the property as general manager. Curnow replaces recently retired Chuck Porter, who served as general manager at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort for nearly 20 years. As general manager, Curnow's responsibilities will include overseeing the hotel and restaurant operations and managing all staff members. Curnow returns to the Sheraton Steamboat Resort; where he previously worked as the director of sales and marketing.

John Curnow rejoins the Sheraton Steamboat Resort most recently from the Sky Hotel in Aspen, Colo., where he served as general manager. He also worked as the director of sales and marketing at the St. Regis Aspen in Aspen, Colo., a sister Starwood Hotels and Resorts property, from 1999-2002. Curnow originally served as the director of sales and marketing at the Sheraton Steamboat from 1996-1999. Prior experience includes serving as the director of group sales at the Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, Colo.
With many years in Colorado tourism and hospitality industry, Curnow was an integral member of the Aspen community. John maintains a membership in the Colorado Hotel & Lodging Association and looks forward to becoming just as actively involved in Steamboat Springs.
